whew time has flown

Hello~ It's been a couple of months.. Time has really flown. I've had a bit of a busy life the past couple of months with a couple of deaths, working, closing our camper up for the winter, I've had two relatives whom have strokes. One of them was my cousin hers was classified as slight and my Aunt who was classified not severe but not slight either. But just right in the middle. They both are recovering. Her (My Aunt) husband which is my Dad's brother just passed two weeks after her stroke. They were lucky to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary right before he passed. I've been lucky to spend some time with my Dad's family and learn more about his family and stuff that wasn't talked about. I'm almost 46 years old and I can't believe I'm finding out about some of it has been interesting. Here is a pic of my home away from home all packed up for the winter! I'm sad as our summer in Northern Minnesota was cut short with the late winter into May this year. We have to be packed up and out by Oct 1st. We've tried to spend as much time as we could at the lake due to the late start of Spring/Summer. We still had ice on the lake two weeks into May. Which is not unusual but we've usually have bounced into spring rather quickly which did not happen this year.

My one and only birthday in August.

Hi There! Still on the birthday Saga.. My one and only birthday in August is my Niece Megan or what I like to call her Meg Pie :)  Megan turned 19 this year. I can not believe she has been out of high school a year already and I really don't know where a year went???

Baby Time

My Diaper cake in Progress. My Cousin's are having a baby shower for my cousin Elyse on Sunday. I've had most of it done for two weeks but have been on the hunt for a cake topper. I do eventually use them but sometimes not right away. The stamps are also retired. The were salutations seals.

July Birthday's

As you can tell I have a ton of June and July Birthday's. This is for my friend Mel. She's 6 month older then me. So just when I catch up to her she takes off ahead of me! LOL. This card was from a kit I had previously posted on my trip to Pine City Scrapbooking company. These are the paper smooches stamps, yellow twine, Some pearls, the chocolate rose ribbon and I just took a section of the rose and used it the middle of yellow flower. I hope she enjoys her day and gets a bit of spoiling from her family as she spoils them rotten on their birthdays! If anything this will let her know I'm thinking of her. I just received my new CTMH catalog so I can't wait to get busy!!  Let see how many of you are reading the blog.. I'll be getting phone calls wanting their copy he hee..

Father in Law's Birthday

My Father in Law's Birthday was over the weekend as well. I dug out some old paper's out of my stash. This is the victory paper packet and I also grabbed an o'l stamp set out too from CTMH. I tend to hang on to all my hunting fishing, camping, hiking, or outdoor stamps as they are few and far between with CTMH so I'll use them as much and whenever I can! This stamp set is the catch of the day. I even took out some old punches I've been hanging on too with the pine tree's and the moose. I can even tell you how old these are. I made the pine tree's and the moose for my wedding invites once a pond a time ago.. so they're 12 years old. yikes. Anyways I used a couple of embossing folders the ruler is from Darci and the wood grain is from Stampin' up. to give it the rustic feel I was going for. I used the Faber Castell Water color pencils on the fish and blended with a blending pen from CTMH and then I have this cool shimmer pen. which I was trying to get a picture with the shimmer.. you can some what tell in the second photo but to give it a feel of a rainbow trout. 40th Birthday Card

Hello again friends. I had a 40th Birthday Party this past week too. He is my former roommate. He's had some health issues the past couple of years. I am so happy he's been doing well on his recovery the past year. So I'm fortunate to spend his 40th Birthday with him and his wife. I hope he likes his card I made him. My Bestie Peggy is turning 50 this weekend So I made her this 50th Birthday card.

This is with the dream Pop Paper Packet. I'm certainly getting my use from this paper packet from the National Scrapbooking Campaign from Close to my heart. Again I used my favorite papersmooches stamps which are not CTMH. I wish we had some funky font like this. I used the ribbon from a past workshop on the go from last fall. I'm almost out of my stash. but I think I found a great substitute from American Crafts. I used the foundry pin clips, and sparkle flourishes to give it a finished look.

Tommy Boy Grad Card

The ONLY boy I have that's Graduating this year is Conner from East High School.. His family camps next to us up at the lake. I've used this denim ribbon from S.U I know not our's but I love how it works with this paper packet. Of course I snuck in paper smooches stamps and A1139 $6.95 Congrats Graduate. We're unable to make this grad party as well as we have a 40th Birthday party the day of pretty much an all day affair!! Oh to be 40 again eh?
